London Stock Exchange (LSE) is one of the most important international financial
markets in the world, and provides listing and trading of equity, debt and other
securities. It is located at the heart of the world’s leading financial center.
Within those listed companies in LSE, a number of them are from overseas.
The Alternative Investment Market (AIM), which is a sub-market of LSE, is an international
trading market for small and fast-growing companies. There are many different types
of companies in the AIM, such as emerging and risk capital companies, and also companies
that are about to expand.
Some overseas companies are listed on the U.K. financial markets through the use
of Depositary Receipts (DRs) – the Great Britain Depositary Receipt (GDRs) and the
European Depositary Receipts (EDRs).
