1. What is Pre-Market trading?

Pre-Market trading also known as extended-hours trading happens before the regular trading day of a stock exchange. Broadly, extended trading hours refer to the trading hours outside regular trading sessions including both pre-market and post-market.

2. What exact time does the U.S. Pre-Market Trading Session cover? When can pre-market order be placed?

Currently, POEMS offers you pre-market trading between 16:00 to 21:30 HKT (summer), or 17:00 to 22:30 HKT (winter). This type of order is sent to Pre-market Trading Session and allowed to fill during Pre-market Trading Session and Regular Trading Hours. Orders can be placed from 16:00 HKT (summer), or 17:00 HKT (winter), until before market opening at 21:30 HKT (summer), or 22:30 HKT (winter). Regular Trading Hours starts from 21:30 to 04:00 HKT (summer), or 22:30 to 05:00 HKT (winter)

3. Are all account types eligible to trade during the Pre-Market session?

All customers who have enabled the U.S. stocks trading function can submit orders during the pre-market trading session after the acknowledgment of the "Extended Hours Trading Risk Disclosure Statement" on the order page.

4. How to place an order for the Pre-Market Trading Session?

During the pre-market available time 16:00 to 21:30 HKT (summer), or 17:00 to 22:30 HKT (winter), select "Limit Order for Pre&Regular" in trade type on POEMS App. Currently, the function to place new "Limit Order for Pre&Regular" is not available on other POEMS platforms, but you can view and withdraw orders placed from mobile App on all POEMS platform.

5. What are the risks of trading at the Pre-Market Trading Session?

Risk of Lower Liquidity, Risk of Higher Volatility, Risk of Changing Prices, Risk of Unlinked Markets, Risk of News Announcements, and, Risk of Wider Spreads. For more details, please read “Extended Hours Material Risks Disclosure”.

6. How do I know if my order is placed in the Pre-Market Trading Session?

7. Where can I find the US Pre-Market quotes on the POEMS suite of platforms?

We currently did not provide pre-market price quotes.

8. Where do Pre-Market orders match?

Through electronic communication networks (ECNs) that match buyers with sellers.

9. Where can I place Pre-Market orders?

You can only place Pre-Market orders through POEMS Mobile App during Pre-Market session, 16:00 to 21:30 HKT (summer),
or 17:00 to 22:30 HKT (winter).

10. How does Phillip HK charge Pre-Market transitions?

Charges for US stocks are the same as they are during normal trading hours. During the pre-market trading session, you can also take advantage of our most recent US stock offers.

11. What will happen to orders not done during the Pre-Market period?

Unfilled or partially filled orders will be carried forward to the regular trading session and will expire at the end of the trading day.

12. Is Post-Market trading available?

Currently, POEMS does not offer post-market trading.

13. Why are some counters missing pre-market quotes?

Missing pre-market quotes can indicate that no one is currently trading the counter before regular trading hours.

14. Can I change the Pre-Market order at any time?

You cannot modify the pre-market order, however, you can withdraw it and place a new pre-market order.
